Mebee closed a bit, heck if it weren't for Mrs Rog, I'd proly never go much of anywhere. We just did a week bicycle trip near Madison/Milwaukee and came back with a few more pathogens than desired but wasn't too bad Covid, just a touch of lingering fatigue. You know people talk about lifting weights like its so great; nobody mentions the putting them down part, but that's where the real benefit is.

I've been brewing feverishly since I started in mid '18; that is, up until last fall. 65 batches under my belt and lately I've been playing with longer aging projects and brewing sours, and you know what I really enjoy the relaxed pace and creative freedom of aged ales. My first big project was a RIS I bottled at Christmas in 2018 and with just a couple of champagne bottles left its just passing its prime and it's a solid beer I'm proud to share. Time is the best ingredient, and well-rehearsed brewing practices take all of the stress out of it. I've got a keg of chocolate pretzel stout just passing 14 months, I'll tap it around Thanksgiving and see where it's at. A tripel I brewed back in Feb didn't attenuate as well as I'd like so I'm going to pull that keg, pitch some Brett and put a spunding valve on it. Time is my friend, and that's the hardest lesson I've learned since I began brewing.

ahh, good year! also when i got into brewing. but didn't take it up seriously until 2004-5 or so....
