Just mashed in a black lager. It's 1030pm.....here's a pic....

Not many places you can brew in the daylight in the middle of the night. This is my first attempt at a lager and I'll be counting on my basement to aid the process..

Cliche name time-"Midnight Sun Lager"

Anyhow, happy brewing, friends.
 
Good luck on the lager! I went to the solstice ball game. I would rather have been brewing!!
 
Lager went ballistic!! I have a cracked 3-peice airlock now!!! Rigged up a blow off and started the transition to lagering temps.....!
 
I'm now lagering in my garage. The stick thermometer on my garage floor has remained @ 49 degrees F for four days. I've got my fermenter and mr blow-off covered and my carboy is In direct contact with the floor. Garage ambient air is 55. I'm crossing my fingers to maintain stable temps and darkness. BTW-it's been over 80 the past few days, its perfect weather right now!
