It is, cuts down on how many times the freezer goes on. Although I was thinking of hooking it to the temp controller, still up in the air.

what did you use for an adhesive to attach the collar to the freezer itself ? I'm in the middle of a build myself and I'm a bit dumb founded by which adhesive caulking to use ?

Thanks, regarding adhesive for the collar, I didn't use anything. The weight of the combined inner and outer collar is a good amount. I used weather stripping on the inner collar and locked in the overal collar with 2 pieces of wood in the back. It isn't going anywhere, all together it most likely weighs a good 30 lbs.
