how to draw your brew rig

I no longer have access to solidworks for laying out my brew sculpture before i build it. It makes a huge difference having a layout before you start rolling stainless. I tried google sketch but it was crap.

I am curious if you all have any suggestions on what is reasonable out there for getting the mechanical part drawn up. Stainless it a bit to high, or i am to poor, to just start bending and cutting away on.

I used graph paper, a pencil, a big eraser & drink beer during the design process. It worked - more or less

Alibre used to have some good free software, but that was years ago. I think the home or hobby version is about 2 bills now. www.alibre.com

I'll look into that. The sheet metal places don't particularly like to get hand drawings. More time for them to redraw in their own cad.

How much time did you give sketch up? It isn't robust like sw...but several engineers I know like it plenty fine

clay9_24, There is a free CAD program called Draftsight put out by Dassult. Same parent company Of Catia and Solid Works.
Draftsight is fully compatible with AutoCAD (DWG files). Again it is free.
