Can I safely use a Refractometer over a Hydrometer when brewing OR must I use both? I'm currently brewing an AG Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and my hydrometer just broke!! I do, however, have a refractometer.

PLEASE ADVISE!

If you're just brewing now and nothing has fermented you can use your refractometer just fine. It's only after there's alcohol in the liquid that you're measuring that things get a little "off" with refractometer.
