Got some 1 year past date 34/70 last friday for free from my LHBS. I made a CAP saturday and pitched at 53 degrees on sat night at 7pm. All I can say is wow this stuff is prolific, my OG beer of 1.050 sat night was down to 1.020 this morning so I ramped up to 60 degrees doing my diacetyl rest. Beer smells great so far, must say I'm very pleased with this yeast and the speed it fermented out my CAP. Anybody else used this yeast with this result?

I buy this yeast by the brick ( 500 g ). I think it's fantastic, although I don't see any difference between it and S-189 yeast. Been using it for 2 years now. I just pitched a starter made from an expired pack of W2042 I had into a brew I made last night. First time I have used liquid yeast in a few years.

Yeah when I started last year I would use nothing but liquid yeast, now I'm starting to use more dry unless the style, such as a Saison won't let me use it

my favorite lager yeast, i too have used expired packets with great success. sometimes i find this strain needs quite a long conditioning period to let the sulfur die down... but since it's not every batch that acts that way i'm mostly sure it's my fault.
