Hey everyone, I'm looking to make an automated brew rig that I plan to control by a PC (VisualBasic) and an Arduino. The schematic of the hardware is attached.

The question I have is, do you think I will gain enough in efficiency to make it worth while to do fly sparging?

The reason I ask is because in order to do Fly I would need to purchase a second pump and modify the plumbing. Note I haven't bought anything except a couple valves yet. As you can see in my diagram, I can get away with using one pump for batch sparging by turning on valves 4 & 6 to fill the BK and empty the MLT and then turn those off and turn on valves 2 & 5 to sparge.

What do you all think?

I suggest you do a search on the forum because this topic has been beaten to death and some of the previous threads have gotten pretty heated.
