I collected some of these 16oz aluminum bottles, but when I go to recap them my capper crushes the neck and the cap doesn't seal.

Is there a way to use these bottles?

Standard that came with my brew kit. Works great with glass bottles, not so much with the aluminum.

If you had been using a bench capper, I was going to suggest a wing-type, as those tend to exert less downward force. But since you're probably using a winger (that's what came with your kit, right?), I can't think of one that would have a lighter touch and still make a good crimp.

Those aluminum bottles are probably going to crush, no matter what you try.

the bench capper i've heard works,
the aluminum bottles do not have a neck to grab onto like the glass bottles do.
