I went to Singapore last month, and went to a great brewpub (Brewerkz in Clarke Quay, if you go to Singapore it's a must see) and they had an awesome brown ale (balestier brown ale, http://www.brewerkz.com/node/345). It tasted slightly roasty, had a nice body and great american hops aroma and some bitterness. Does anyone know a recipe for something like this?

Mike McDole's "Janet's Brown Ale" is a pretty hoppy number and quite good. Here's a link to the recipe: http://www.thebrewingnetwork.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=&t=18453
