The recent discussion about using left-overs got me thinking.
I have in the cupboard:
5lbs light DME
5lbs amber DME
2oz Kent Goldings
a spare bottle of Safale-05
That sounds to me like a simple, strong amber with a bit left over, or should I dump in everything but the kitchen sink?
[EDIT: ok, really strong, and not very complex - what should I add?]
Something tells me the SG would be too high for Safale-05. Should I order a high-gravity yeast, and if I'm going to order something, how about adding some steeping grains and make it a porter to remember? Maybe I'll toss in a couple of vanilla beans and call it a holiday ale. (Spice it with cloves? hmm)
Is there such a thing as a list of recipes organized by ingredients, like a cocktail app? Something where I could plug in what I have and it can suggest what to brew would be awesome.
