Just borrowed a friends tools to brew my first All Grain beer for a local competition. I brewed a Raspberry Brown Ale, added puree to the secondary, am fermenting in my basement @ around 65-68 degrees. The beer hasn't been kegged yet but sampling the beer shows that it has a foul finish. I thought it was part of the puree and would die off eventually but now I'm wondering if it isn't something else entirely?

It's a hard flavor to describe, the aroma of the beer has some strong raspberry notes but the flavor is weak with a sort of acidic aftertaste.

Any tips on what might cause this? Or how I can pinpoint what might have gone wrong?

First mistake was adding fruit to your beer. :cross: Just kidding.

I would recommend patience at this point. Give it some time and taste again.

I have found some off-flavours in my un-kegged beer before, but after kegging and a little time, they seemed to have disappeared.
Like Ed said, give it some time, it should mellow to a certain extent.

The competition requires something added to your ale, hence the fruit...

Thanks for the helpful input fellas.
