So I brewed NB's Bourbon Porter a while back and it was so good I'm doing it again. I plan on adding some vanilla this time though. I have 2 beans, and am thinking about soaking them in the bourbon for a couple weeks then adding the oak cubes and bourbon to the secondary for a month.

Anyone see anything wrong with this?
Are 2 beans too much for this beer, and should I add them into the secondary with the bourbon or strain them out?

Anyone?

I searched and found that people leave mead on beans for extended time with no ill effects so I assume that will be fine. Should I go with 2 beans or will that be too much for a 1.072 OG porter?

Two beans is fine. I typically just add the vanilla to the beer and then rack off when the flavor comes around to where I want it. Two is fine, but one should work.
