Can you put a thermwrap carboy heater or heating band around your carboy and store it in a refrigerator to maintain proper day and night temps? Keep in mind my refrigerator is in an outdoor non climate controlled building in TN. 80 in the day, 40 at night. Is this possible or will you go back in time?....lol

You can, but why? You're putting a heater inside of a cooling device. It'd be better to put more insulation into your refrigerator instead if the temperature fluctuates too much. Or get a better refrigerator. There are also temp controllers you can buy that will keep a refrigerator or freezer at a constant temp.

If you're expecting large ambient temperature swings (from lower than desired to higher than desired), it might be a good idea to have both heating and cooling capability in the fermentation cabinet. You'll need a dual stage controller in order to effectively use a setup like that. The Ranco ETC-211000-000 will work for most applications.
