I was thinking about making an immersion chiller out of copper coil, which is something I see done all the time. I was wondering if I could use the same copper coil in a jockey-box type setup for pouring cold beer from my keg? I have a corny, and want to get started kegging, but we're about to move and there's no way of convincing my fiancee that now is an awesome time to buy a second fridge, haha.

As long as I keep everything cleaned and sanitized, will it be ok? Will it work reasonably well? Is this just flat-out crazy?

Not with copper, but you could do stainless.

Copper is poisonous in fermented beer.
