It's no secret that I like to brew lighter, crisper beers.

I'm thinking of blending my base grains to a 50/50 ratio of 2-row and pilsner...plus the other specialty grains.

(Or...maybe even switching to a 100% pilsner base).

Any thoughts on pros-cons?

Give it a try. What the heck. I'm going to start brewing more Kolsches as I have loads of pilsener malt on hand and am running low on Pale 2 row.

I may have to facilitate another bulk order soon.

If I'm low on one, I do. I've made a belgian that was 6lbs pils 3lbs american pale. Most of my belgians these days have about 10-30% wheat in them. I think it helps add a much more subtle character than specialty grains when you use more than 1 base grain.
