The ancients used to fear me
they did not understand my dentistry
but now they say because of my teeth
all my species the dirt are beneath
What am I

A saber toothed cat could it be?
I watched a show once, a documentary.
They had those long fangs that were hard to explain.
If I am wrong, I'm not one to complain.

saber tooth it is
now your riddle is the biz
post it now, post it fast
so that this one is not our last

What does man love more than life
Fear more than death or mortal strife
What the poor have, the rich require,
and what contented men desire,
What the miser spends and the spendthrift saves
And all men carry to their graves?

A man loves nothing more than life;
There's nothing more feared than death or strife.
The poor have nothing, so do the rich require;
The contented have nothing left to desire.
Misers don't spend and spendthrifts don't save,
And nothing is carried to the grave.

I've never seen it done like that
chocotao your time is now to bat
Or would it be pitch Im not sure
But riddles do help the mind to cure
:mug:

The answer read better than the riddle I agree.
Here is the second of my three.

It cannot be seen, cannot be felt,
Cannot be heard, cannot be smelt.
It lies behind stars and under hills,
And empty holes it fills.
It comes out first and follows after,
Ends life, kills laughter.

I'm going with an old radio time show
Only the shadow knows
It could be space
Dont give me grace
Maybe it's darkness
that fills this place.
Probably wrong
Just singing my song
Dont really matter
If I played this wrong

I planned to post a rhyming brother
Quoted text before but I did sunder

There are two anwsers to this game
The answer and the Riddler's name.

I brewed a beer, and pitched the yeast,
then walked a mile south, then a mile east.

Walked another mile north, now I was back to my gear,
Lo! What's that? A bear slurping my beer!

So answer this question (oh it doesn't seem fair),
I ask you, my friends, what color's the bear?

The bear's black.
He often helps me to brew.
We get quite drunk and stumble off sometimes.
And my compass she isn't quite true.
It may be the iron in the ground
But a triangle we've found is the path that usually gets us back home.
I Dont know why it works.
If you Dont believe me you're all jerks.
And I'll take my ball and go elsewhere.

While I await Dan's reply, I offer a riddle for others to try:

My visiting friend looks quite like you,
Hands, eyes, and ears – of each he has two.

Tender age of 25, says with me he can now drink beer.

Take a moment to understand: he comes to visit from another land.
And similar though we may be, subtle differences there surely be.

Read on and learn more, my dear.

Another visit, time goes by
I age 3 years. He says “So have I,
And at 30 years I feel so young.”
I say “My friend, I think you're wrong,
30 years less 2 you have.”
He looks at me as if I'm mad.

I thought a minute, then it was clear.
I knew what had happened here.
25 and 3, you see,
is not the same to him as it is to me.

How many fingers upon each hand
Has this man from another land?

Hmm if he was from Venus the math would be close
This one stumps me, I like these the most

4 fingers on each hand. He counts in octal. In our numbering system (decimal), he's actually 24 years old.

In octal, only the digits 0-7 are valid. So you'd go 0-7, then 10 (which is 8), then up to 17, then 20 (which would be 16), the up to 27, then 30 (which would be 24).

That's all a guess, but I'm betting it's right.
