I'm about to make a starter using my new magnetic stirrer for the first time. There may be an obvious answer to my question, but should I oxygenate the starter wort with O2 first, or just let 'er rip on the magnetic stirrer?

If you've got O2, give it a good shot. I like to feed it O2 any time I build up the volume also. If you're talking about other methods of aeration, no, let the stirring do the work.

Thanks, Bobby. I do have an O2 setup, so I'll give it a shot, pitch, then stir, stir, stir.

Although I was kind hoping I could be lazy and have one less thing to sanitize :)
