How do I get the right amount of spice or berries or whatever in the brew. I have seen where someone boiled a gallon of water and added until it tasted as strong as you want the flavor to be. Is this the best way?
Need advice!!

as far as berries go, i am reading that fruit should be added to secondary to taste. from what i learned with a boil you lose flavor
