steel braid food safe innertube?

I doubt it is. Not many people cook in or eat from their washing machines.

I do however have a recipe to cook in a dishwasher.

well I cut a bunch of holes in it then put it back in the braid to keep the braid from collapsing in my MLT but the thought just crossed my mind that it probably isnt food safe and I just wasted two hours of my life.

Get rid of the inner hose. If you feel inclined to make an inner support structure, coil some stainless wire in to a spring or order a stainless spring from mcmaster.
