I have never brewed and was wanting to make some good old mead for fun =) I was sorta wondering if you mess up or w/e with it make a poison like when making whisky?

Simple answer, no. The worst that could happen is that it could get a baterial infection or mold if you were not careful with your sanitation practices, but if it was infected you would definitely know by the smell and would not drink it.

No, the sugars in mead will produce only ethanol and a bunch of esters that won't kill you. Just give you a hangover that makes you wish you would die!

Ah, the mead hangover...

Now, where's the Smiley for the feeling of having your brain crumpled up and chewed on?
