I bought a valve vr8200 off ebay and there is a black pipe nipple stuck in the inlet side of the valve... I have no idea how to get it out as it apears to be frozen solid, looks like they tried to use gas tape but there is some rusting on the nipple threads...

Is it safe to use some wd on this baby and then turn it nipple side down to try to get it to looses?

The threads on the nipple are shot.

or should I take it to a machinist shot and have then try to get it out?

anything that I can try to reverse it out like a bolt puller?

I've decided to get an extractor set from homedepot and try that, will post how that goes.

got it with a pair of channel locks and some penetrating oil, very light application and then left facing down so it would drip away from valve... tiny turn, reapply, tiny turn, reapply and then it was loose. YMMV
