I know that you should use stainless so the acids dont react to the aluminum, just like when making tomato sauce. But is it really that huge of a deals?
I'm sure some will say yes and some will say no

I just moved and I don't have any brewing items anymore and I'm going to put together one of my own.

Aluminum is fine as long as you preboil a pot full of water to build a layer of oxidation before you use it for beer. And don't use beach to clean it.

Thanks y'all. They have a 5 or 6 gallon at SAMs Club for around 30 and 5.2 gallon water jugs (filled) for 5 dollars. I'm going to use them instead of a 20+ dollar better bottle.

Is this a test? Go out and get some 6 gal. brewing buckets with good lids...stay away from those water bottles...there're not made for fermenting beer and not big enough for a 5 gal. batch.
