Hey all,

So, I decided to brew a batch today and came up with a question:

Is it better to hit your OG and come up short on volume, OR is it better to miss your OG and hit your volume?

I know that it would be ideal to hit both, but if that is obviously not an option....

Thanks

Personally, I think it's better to hit your OG. I would prefer to have a lower volume of the beer that I set out to make (abv, mouthfeel, etc.), than to have more of something unintended.

I'd agree. The gravity is more important than total volume. Brewing is a lossy process anyway.
