Just started AG brewing. I am 40 miles oneway from the nearest LHBS. My question is how long will milled grains stay fresh? Can they be frozen to prolong their freshness. I don't have a mill and would like to buy three or four recipes at a time.
Thanks

I've always been told by my LHBS that the grains will stay fresh as long as I brew within 48 hrs. I've never tried freezing them or even vacuum packing. This is why I went ahead and bought a mill. The 48 hour thing didn't always work for me.

If you keep them dark, dry and cool you should have a good tree month if not longer

OK. So if I put the milled grains in a sealable plastic bag, put them in the refrigerator I should be good for a month? I should use them by a month.
