SG is specific gravity. It's a measure of the gravity of a liquid in the most general sense.

OG is original gravity. In brewing terms, it is the SG of the wort before fermentation has started.

FG is final gravity. It is the SG of the wort after fermentation has ceased.
 
ok, what about these acronyms. i have seen them used and have not figured them out yet?

AG
and
APA
 
AG = all grain, brewing without using extract.

APA = american pale ale.

I think there is a sticky somewhere with a bunch of acronyms.
