what type of beer do you make your man cakes with?

sounds awesome. i might try it this weekend. can someone tell me what Bisquick is?

For simplicity's sake, you don't need bisquick, you can simply buy ready made pancake mix, the one that says: "just add water" and replace the ingredient water, with beer.

Some beers work well, others don't but this is the best way to try. Once you find a batch you like, you can then start making your own batter by using flour, eggs, salt, baking soda, and baking powder. then add chocolate, vanilla, whatever. with the fusion of brewing and baking, the possiblilities are endless
 
IMHO when cooking with beer, use a beer that you think has a fantastic aroma. That seems to be what comes through in the end.
