I have an opportunity to get some peach cider this week. Anyone have experience using cider in a recipe in place of water? Does it work? Anything I should know? Was this a stupid question?

Check out some recipes in the Cider recipe section. Brandon's Graff seems to be popular (I just bottled a batch). It's a beer made with apple juice instead of water. Many of the recipe considerations will apply to pear cider as well.

I actually just used Brandon's recipe last week! This is why I figured this might be worth a shot!

And yeah, I wouldn't boil the cider. I'd probably do a boil with just a gallon of water and then fill the fermenter up to 5 gallons with the peach cider.
