I only have a yeast bank tube or a small jar of washed Wyeast 1056 to start from. How would I make enough to do a 10gal batch with an OG 1.060. I have a stir plate and a 2L E.flask. Is this possible. Starters of this nature are new to me. Thanks.

Could you not make a half-gallon starter with 8 oz DME, aerate it as much as possible, and use it a few days later? This would give you a comparable OG wort to build a population and what seems like adequate amount of yeast cells to pitch with.

Think about what amount of yeast is normally pitched and what the resulting cake is usually like... you're just baking a small cake...
