I have been fermenting for a little over 12 hours and I have wort coming through my airlock, and clogging it up. I took the airlock off cleaned it and the bubbles started back 10 fold.

Any suggestions or is this OK

take the airlock off and put a piece of sanitized foil over the opening. you don't want to have a messy explosion of krausen on your ceiling. this is normal for some yeasts.

If you want to contain the blowoff and your fermenting in a carboy you can go to HD and a get a length of 1" ID vinyl hose and stick one end in the carboy and the other in some water with sanitizer.

+1

...remember to sanitize the hose as well.
