A question about bottling...sort of...

Anyone here every open a 22oz. STORE BOUGHT beer, drink half, cap it with one of your OWN caps and capper, and then open it again a few days later and drink the rest? The reason I ask is because I have a Butte Creek Brewing Company Train Wreck (Barleywine) and don't want to drink the WHOLE thing tonight. I wanted to have half of it and then cap it but didn't know if the exposure to air would cause the cap to pop off because of the pressure since it would have already been opened.

Never have but see no reason it wouldn't work for just a few days.

It's okay for a few days.

I do it on occasion...

I also sometimes drink the whole beer except for the dregs, then re-cap for a few days and then harvest the yeast....(With Rogue bomers, that is.)
