Sometimes when a recipe calls for a certain Alpha Acid percentage in the Hops I have to make due with either a higher percentage hops or lower percentage hops from my Home Brew Supplier. Is there a quick and dirty calculator to convert the amount of hops necessary to achieve the same IBU with more/less of a different percentage hops?

Thanks.

Any brewing software will do it, free or pay to play software.

Step 1. Calculate AAUs
First, if it's not listed, calculate the AAUs (Alpha Acid Units) for each hop addition in the recipe.

AAUs = (weight in oz.) x (recipe hops AA%)

Step 2. Calculate the required weight of your hops
Then, just divide the AAUs you got in step 1.

(needed weight of your hops in oz) = AAUs / (your hops AA%)
