I have some cider that has been the in primary for almost 2 weeks and is still going strong (after about a 3 day delay start). However, I am about to go out of town from Dec. 12-Jan. 16. I was anticapating moving it into the secondary in a couple of days before I left, but clearly it is not ready (the OG was 1055 and has only dropped to 1046).

So, my question is, will it be bad if it stays in the primary that long (about 6 weeks overall)?

Also, if I go ahead and rack into a secodary whould that harm anything?

Hard Cider. I used 5 gallons of fresh cider and Wyeast's Belgium Ale Yeast.

Any other concerns with leaving it in the primary that long?
