Beer accompaniment to split pea soup?

My options are APA, Avery IPA, robust porter, belgian black ale (NB 1554), and Bridgeport ESB.
 
Personally I'd go with the ESB. My second choice would be the 1554. The hoppier (citrusy) beers I think are either going to mask the flavor of the soup, or contrast with it so that your palette doesn't adjust well between the two. I think the English style hops are more suitable to that kind of food, and the 1554 isn't very hoppy at all, but I almost think it's too much body when you're already enjoying a pretty heavy soup.
