Last night i was bottling 5 gal and i was almost done. I was trying to get the last bottle full. I probably had just enough to fill it. As i picked up the bucket and tipped it on its side to flow into the the hose. I guess i tipped it to far, i filled about half the bottle and the other half fell on my head. Needless to say i was done filling and it was time for a beer and capping marathon.

That's why I came up with a dip tube for my bottling bucket

No tipping necessary and you get all but 2-3 ounces of gunk in the bucket.

There's different permutations of this idea in my bottling thread.

+1 for Revvy's method. Quite a few of us do it that way.

I guess this gives the term Hop Head a new meaning.
