should I strain the hops out of my wort when dumping into the primary??? (they're pellets by the way, and the brew is a pale ale)

Won't hurt, as long as you have a fine strainer, like a ss one. What you don't catch will settle out in the primary, and then you can rack the beer off that into a secondary or a bottle bucket.

I always strain before it goes into the primary. It gets the hops out, and aerates the wort.

I bought the fine mesh bag from the LHBS that fits into my plastic primary. Just dump the whole thing in and pull up on the bag and all the hops get caught in the bag. Its like a gaint grain bag made for the primary bucket.
