I'm making the Affligem Noel clone from "Beer Captured," and the recipe calls for priming with dry malt extract. I've never primed with malt extract, and I use liquid rather than dry extract anyway. Is it within reason to prime with liquid ME, and if so how much? My general conversion is 3/4 lb DME to 1 lb LME. The recipe calls for 1.25 cups DME, which comes to 1 2/3 cups LME. Any chance this gives me bottle bombs? Thx.

I don't see why you cannot use LME. LME is 80% as strong as DME by weight. Does the recipe state weights of the ingredients because that would be easier to convert. A cup of liquid may not have the same weight as a cup of dry ingredients.

It will take longer to carbonate with malt extract.
