Yesterday I made a very simple Hef. It only has 24oz of grain and the rest extract. I did a 60 min boil. Cooled the wort to only 100. I was out of time and had to pitch at this temp. I areated it and sealed it then place it in the basement. My basement is around 64 degrees. Lat night I noticed a very little movement through the airlock and felt good. This morning was another story! I was using a plastic sealed bucket to ferment in and I had an airlock full of crap and some wort on the top of my lid. I quiclky removed the lid and cleaned the ailock and lid and resealed. Within 2 min I had an airlock that was moving faster than any I have seen. Has anyone ever encountered something like this and is it normal? Thanks again!
