Has anyone ever used Edinburgh yeast with a barley wine? Or have any thoughts on using Edinburgh in a barley wine? I am making a scotch ale and wanted to use the yeast cake for the barley wine.

I've only used it with a strong scotch, but I think it would work fine since it is pretty neutral. Though I don't think I would use the yeast cake from a scotch ale since that yeast will be pretty stressed out from the high gravity, unless your making a 60/- to 70/- scottish and not a scotch
