Just made a home made fermentation chamber. I live in Houston area where temps have been 100+ degrees outside for over a month and a half. Fermenting has been a challenge. Maintaing right temps has been tough.
Built this out of a old half height server cabinet. Lined the inside with styrofoam panels from lowes. Sealed with 4 cans of expandable foam. Made the door out of same panels. Door snugs right in opening. Cooling is provided by a small window AC unit. Temp was 99 when I started unit. Within 5 minutes, I achieved 67 degrees inside and holding. AC unit cycles on every 10 to 15 min, runs for 2 minutes to maintain temp. Now to brew a batch and try it out!
