Flare Nuts on IC

Quick question before we head out and buy all the parts.

Building an immersion chiller with 3/8" copper and instead of soldering fittings, we thought we could use flare nut fittings.

Does anyone see a downside to using flare nuts? Or would it be better to use compression fittings?

Lazy.

I have a flaring tool that I borrowed from a guy at work and it seems a ton easier.
