Data recorded using Labview over past 8 days:

Ambient is 65F. Fermenting is done in basement.

Large extended spike shows peak fermentation
temperature.

Smaller peaks and dips are furnace cyclings.

I pitched my yeast on February 1st but didn't have
data collection in place until the 3rd.

What kind of setup do you have to record your temps? I see the reference to 'labview' in your pic. Any details? Thanks

I wrote the program to collect the data using Labview v9. The
hardware includes a calibrated thermistor attached to the outside
of the ferment bucket and covered over using several layers of
insulating material.

The interface from thermsistor to computer is a National Instruments
USB-6008 DAQ.

I brewed again yesterday and captured the beginning temperature.
I dumped my wort directly on top of an existing yeast cake.

Note the temperature rise during the first 10-hours of ferment.

Ambient temperature was 70F. I had cooled the wort down to
67F but by the time I got it transferred and aerated it had crept
up near ambient temperature.
