Fitting Expert Needed: Perlick Sample Valve

I bought a bunch of these nice Perlick Sample Valves from a friend and was hoping to use of of them as a valve for a mash tun (because of how small it is) on a cooler conversion. It turns out that it has some strange collared male threaded fitting on the valve.

Is this a proprietary type fitting and I would only be able to use Perlick's branded coupler for it?

It almost looks like the beer side of a sanke coupler..

If that's the case, tail piece (with desired size barb) and a beer/hex nut should work.
