I really wanted to see that show but couldn't pull the funds. My daughter and I just saw Primus in September, small venue. That was badass. I haven't seen Tool since 95.

The only time I've seen them live was around '08-09, when they were still touring for 10,000 Days. I'm glad I caught them then, because who knows when they'll do another full tour.

Saturday I checked in on some original Black Sabbath. It was much better than I expected.

This led me to googling the band and their lineups over the years and it reminded me that they once had DIO singing for them. And I also got sidetracked looking up Carmine Appice, one of my favorite drummers who played fantastic drums for Blue Murder. Which led me to checking out his first big gig, playing drums for Vanilla Fudge.

So I started streaming some Vanilla Fudge. And my wife says, "This band sucks. They are really bad."

"No, they are 'Psychedelic'."

"No, they are just bad."

"It's 'Experimental'."

"It's awful."

Ok, maybe a bit. They were pretty out there, but you could tell it was definitely something a really stoned person would have listened to in the 60s-70s.

Then it was back to Black Sabbath, but this time the dehumanizer album with DIO. I think Ozzy did it better, so back to older Black Sabbath.

Then after brewing I picked out some of Ozzy's "Mr. Crowley" on guitar. Good stuff.

I have dehumanizer. I thought it was pretty good for their more modern stuff. But I still like Supernaught!

Still have the album somewhere...dang, you got me on a mini sabbath kick just now. Wound up with " children of the grave", with the eerie whammy bar thing at the end I used to do. Children of the grave...the grave...the grave...

This week has already been floccing frustrating. Trip hop and a Prairie Bomb! are helping for now.

She's really good for one so young! I watched a couple of the others blowing taps at Arlington, that the fallen might yet rest in eternal piece. It's so hard to hear it even yet. We buried both my father & father in law, both Navy men, with full military honors. I still have the cartridge casings from dad's funeral. Funny how it wasn't until after the 21-gun salute, & they played taps, the I finally & fully realized he was indeed gone. After all the nights I heard the terrible nightmares he suffered through as I grew up from the hell he went through defending Guadalcanal. then my brother, an ex-Marine, now lost to us, we still don't know anything. Life is such a pain sometimes...but moreso for those that defend our homes, way of life, indeed our honor. Maybe, someday, men can finally learn to live together without butcherin' one another?!...

Don't discount this because of the name of the band. I am not embarrassed by this, nor by saying I own the first four albums.

Just cranked up Ten because of the Yellow Ledbeder thread. Takes me back to the Navy days. I just reported to my ship in San Dog and Ten hit the radio. Wow! Rocking flannels and ball caps with jeans and Docs. I pretty much dressed that way before and don't look too much different these days. Just fatter and grayer.
:tank:

I totally sing out loud when cranking up the old crooner.
