To bottle my beer, I added just over 3/4cup of sugar dissolved in just over a cup of water. My gravity now reads 1016 when it was reading 1014 a few days ago. The reading hadn't changed in several days so I thought I was ready to bottle. The recipe calls for a FG of 1012-1014.
Did I make an error or would that 3/4 cup of sugar make that much of a difference in gravity? I'm concerned now that I may be overcarbonated or worse, that fermentation hadn't finished as I thought it had.
