When I use the Minibrew (plastic) HLT to source hot water, I get a lot of condensation on the lid. It seeps over the edge onto the lip of the lid and then drips on everything, including the connection to the heater element. Anyone else have this problem, or know of any solutions? (other than waterproofing the element connection)

I use a Minibrew HLT and have the same problem. Unfortunately, the only fix I found was to indeed put a gang box around the element connection. I've noticed that the problem has subsided some as of late, but that is probably because the lid has deformed in shape, and the condensed water collects in the middle of the underside of the lid. I followed Kal's method for protecting the connection with the gang box, and it was both easy to install and has held up well.
