Generally speaking what features are you looking for in a wort chiller. I'm doing a wort chiller design for my senior project and I'm assembling a list of customer requirements. Part of that process is interviewing prospective future customers. I thought a thread like this would be the perfect oppurtunity to touch base with many homebrewers.
Here's a quick list of customer requirements that I've come up with.
Cooling Efficiency
Safety
Cost
Expandability
Size
Weight
Ease of Cleaning
Rigidity
Ease of Handling
Ease of Connection
Water Usage
Durability
Dependability
Ease of Repair
Ease of Use
Automatic Shut Off
Forced Internal Convection (Whirlpool/Stirring)
Temperature Readout
Easy Brake Down for Storage
Speed of Setup
Cooling Time
Corrosion Resistance
Appearance
Robustness
Life of Product
Water Flow Adjustment
Flow Turbulence
Ability to Hang/Suspend in Pot
Can you think of anything that you'd add to this list?
Is there a specific Unit that you use or made that has something that you like or hate?
Is there a type of chiller that you refuse to buy because of a specific concern that you have with its design?
Thanks in advance for any response. John.
