Pretty Things Beer and Ale Project out of Sommerville/Westport MA did a line of historic ales based on the actual brewing sheets from the time...here is a link:

They do a nice history lesson with each beer.

There main website is:

They do beer "projects" and do not have their own brewery. They usually work out of Buzzards Bay Brewery in Westport. Which is a shame as Buzzards Bay used to produce one of the most fantastic session beers ever IMO. Can't wait to get my hands on these, I wonder if I missed them at my local store yesterday!

NPR did a few shows with them though I can't find the audio links yet:

Let me know if anyone has tried these yet...

The low abv mild was one of the best beers I had all last year and most memorable. I don't know why people don't make more milds - especially in a local market and small batch - I understand shelf life sucks but a brewpub or smaller outfit like pretty things rocks.

Their fluffy white rabbits is also top notch.

One of the most exciting breweries today - and Dan is a veteran of the craft.

I too had the 1945 low ABV, mild. I enjoyed it. Just very cool to taste something from the past. I can't say I am a big fan of milds but it was a good change of pace. Had one while working in the yard, very refreshing. Saving another for me and my buddy this weekend.

To be honest, I thought Dann was crazy brewing a sub 3% ABV Mild. I was worried that he'd have trouble sell.ing it in the USA.

Its suprisingly tasty...i believe its 2.3%. Like I said, just a great beer you can work all day in the yard with, just wish they were cheaper. If I'm not mistaken, the ABV is not on the beer itself, which is a very smart move IMO

2.8% ABV it says on the label. It's actually 2.9%, according to Dann.
