I got carded today while buying a can of dip. Tobacco selling age in NC is 18. Yeah, baby. Dude said I had a baby face after he turned red when he saw my birthdate and realized that I am more than twice the age of 18.:D

Little things like this make me feel good. Had to share.

Skoal long cut spearmint since I was 16.

Lump in throat, (scar tissue) bad breath, bleeding gums, sensitive teeth.

I have quit twice, but usually have a "trigger event" as an excuse.

Last time I started back, it was because my brother passed away.

Have gotten down to twice a day, and am on the way to quitting. What works?

Last time I quit, went on a sailboat cruise for a week.

Nowhere to buy it in the middle of the ocean. First couple days suck, but that's what works for me.

Hear ya. I was down to about a can every three days before my dad died in May '07. Gradually went back up to almost a can a day. Hardcore Copenhagen long cut.

I can't do the cruise thing. Open to any suggestions.

Every time they jam the scope down my throat to cut away the scar tissue, i say I'm done.

Maybe go hike the mountains, or something.

I am planning a trip to alaska next summer. That should do it for me.

I found that if i get out of a familiar environment, it helps. Take a weekend, go away, I carry a cigar in case it's too bad.
Patch does not work. Gum does not work.

Was dip the cause of the scar tissue? I've never heard of that. I'm sure if it ever got to that point, I'd stop right that second. I have my dentist regularly check my gums, cheek, tongue. Nothing.

No bleeding gums or sensitive teeth yet. Not that I want to get to that point.
