Anybody else just use copper pipe and fittings?

If you want to, you could add an elbow as well. I imagine it would work on silicone as well as on the thermoplastic I use.

It's cheap and avoids brass.

makes sense. When I can, if it is just as good a solution (or better, I think in this case) I use copper. I actually like the color contrast for one reason.
