Hey guys,

It's a Nut Brown Ale that has been fermenting in the primary for 3 weeks. I took a sample to check the final gravity and it tasted ok. Didn't taste amazing (I wouldn't expect it to straight out of the fermenter), but it didn't taste bad either. I don't think it's infected but am curious as to what this stuff is floating on top.

I don't know exactly what it is, but I sometimes have foamy stuff floating on top of my beer in the secondary. Hasn't ever had a negative effect, so I'm sure it's not an infection. I'm sure someone else here knows exactly what it is.

Looks like hops residue and/or yeast rafts to me. But I'm by no means experienced.

There might be a start to a acetobacter colony here.

It's nothing worry about if it is. They can grow into this.
